What is the difference between V-Spec, Ultimate and Full Shaft cues?
V-Spec shafts may have a little more flex than Ultimate shafts. The ash or maple grain pattern will be good, but not necessarily as pleasing on the eye as the higher-range cues. V-Spec shafts have good strength and density, ensuring good playability. VR Cues have a strict selection process, which ensures you will have a high-quality playing cue. These are an excellent option for players who like a strong playing cue but want to keep the cost down.
Ultimate Shafts
As you would expect, shafts are carefully checked to ensure they have the right characteristics to deserve the Ultimate name. Shafts will have an excellent visual grain pattern, good strength and density. This is something that many professionals look for when selecting a new cue. Stiff shafts usually produce exceptional playability and shot feedback. They usually produce low deflection, making these cues more forgiving to use than shafts with more flex and higher deflection.
Full Shaft Cues
These cues are made the old traditional way, where the shaft runs the full length of the cue. Although most cues are made using shorter shafts these days, these are extended to full length before splices are added.
